Does Wearing a Helmet Cause Hair Loss?

October 9, 2017

Do you own a bike? If yes, for sure you got a riding helmet too. Usually, when we wear the helmet, we feel some irritation and discomfort beneath it. Maybe because of this, most of us refuse to wear the helmet while riding. Now, it’s a big no-no to riding without a helmet. But, if your helmet is so tight and misfitting, which over time may lead to huge hair loss. Apart from this some other troubles can also arise due to wearing the helmet.

Hair loss from wearing a helmet can also occur when your head sweats. The sweat gathers on the pores can damage the roots of your hair, causing loss of hair especially for men. Cover your head with a scarf, which will absorb the moisture from your head and will keep the natural oils that seal in your hair. This will make your hair intact in your head. Make sure that you wear your helmet properly and normally.

Give your hair some air by taking a break or have a stopover when you opt for a long drive. Your helmet becomes a breeding ground for airborne bacteria due to sweat, dirt and food particles that could infect your scalp and cause hair fall. It could also affect the growth of your hair. Clean your helmet with an anti-bacterial solution regularly, which is the best and easiest thing you can keep your helmet healthy. Make sure you always let it dry thoroughly after every wash to make it bacteria-free. This will prevent infection in your scalp too.

Remember, it is better to lose your hair than losing your life. Don’t worry! Helmet hair loss can be prevented and cured anyway.

Wanna turn your hair strong and gorgeous?

September 25, 2017

Hair is our pride. Healthy and gorgeous hair is everyone’s dream. Yet, there is no overnight formula to get beautiful hair. For the nourishment of our hair, a proper hair care routine should be followed, which will keep it the best every day. Some dos and don’t can keep our hair strong and gorgeous.

If you wash your hair every single day, it will strip off the natural oils from your hair, leaving it dull, and dry. At the same time combing, wet hair tends to stretch the strands, which causes wear and tear and split ends. Your hair is most delicate and fragile when wet, and therefore combing or styling straight after a shower is a big no no. Use a wide-toothed comb to untangle. Let your hair dry before styling.

Tying your hair tight with headbands, stretch the hair shaft, causing it to break. It can also lead to a condition called traction alopecia, a form of hair loss which is caused by the constant pulling of hair. On the other side, chlorine or salt water can strip the sebum (scalp’s natural oils) out of your hair, leaving it unprotected, and in the long run cause lot of damage – drying it out, causing frail hair, and even altering the hair colour. Apply coconut oil, which not only coats the hair shaft, but penetrates deep into the hair shaft and offers full protection. Using a swim can also give extra safety.

A regular oil massage is a great way to treat your scalp and hair. A gentle oil massage with your finger tips moisturizes the hair and scalp and stimulates blood flow to the roots of your hair.  After washing your hair, finish with a cold rinse. This can flatten the hair cuticles, making your hair softer, smoother and shinier. Also, protect your hair from sun damage: Like your skin, your hair should also be protected from the harsh rays of the sun. Wear a hat or scarf when spending a long time in the sun.

hair care for men

Hair care is not only for women. It is for men too. They also face office stress, lack of proper nap, vitamin deficiency, etc., which leads to huge hair fall. By age 50, more than 50 % of men experience significant hair loss. If you’re worried about the number of hairs you find in your towel when you dry the hair, you must read this article. Whatever the reason for your hair loss, here are a few quick changes you can make to protect the hair you have and keep it healthy and strong:

Avoid high fat diets first. Avoid food that is too high in fat. They may change your blood into acidic. Avoid consuming excessive animal fats, animal protein and salt. This will help delay hair loss in men prone to male pattern baldness. Try to eat enough protein too. Hair is mostly made up of protein, so it’s important to eat enough protein daily, in order to keep it strong. According to studies, men should eat about 50 grams per day with a diet that includes fish, eggs, nuts, chicken, wheat and other high- quality proteins.

Your hair can get a number of  benefits from Silica. The body uses silica to help it absorb vitamins and minerals. Without enough of it, the body can’t absorb the good vitamins and minerals that we take in through diet. Eat your dose of silica through fresh veggies like bean sprouts, cucumber,  red and green peppers, and potatoes.

Enough vitamin intake is necessary for the growth and strength of hair. Good hair requires a diet rich in vitamins. Vitamin- B-6 is essential, and occurs naturally in fish, chickpeas, and beef. Vitamin E makes hair healthy by keeping it shiny and vibrant. Eat enough avocados, nuts, and olive oil.  Apart from all these, your hair styling also matters. The hair styling product that you use is a key component to prevent hair loss. Use of hair gels and other fashion products have to be controlled. Natural hair care oils and shampoos can promote growth and strength to your body.
